I remember the first time I was at Cafe Du Monde. It was October 1984 and we'd come to visit my aunt for her birthday in the grand city of New Orleans. I was 6. I remember sitting there, feeling rather cosmopolitan while snacking on Beignets and sipping hot chocolate, with my mother and aunt discussing life, love and politics while I watched the people walk by.

That feels like forever ago! (And it might as well have been. What is 25 years between lives?)

Thanks for the memories,

I was there for a conference where most of the food was provided so I didn't get to check out lot of other places. I did have a muffaletta at The Napoleon House but I didn't make it to Preservation Hall like I had hoped. Next time!

You made me want beignets and CDM's iced coffee. If it wasn't for my diet, and the extreme heat, I'd hop on the street car, and go get some.

What/where else did you eat? Hear any local music?
